Aberdeen
developed around its harbour. Once a thriving fishing port in
the north-east of Scotland, it is now the "Energy Capital
of Europe" with modern transport links. Aberdeen is an attractive
city with green parks and open spaces. The city boasts spectacular
architecture, an international population and a booming oil industry.
To the east of the city lie the North Sea and a coastline of sandy
beaches, while to the west stretches Royal Deeside, the beautiful
valley of the River Dee. Just half-an-hour from the buzz of Union
Street is the tranquillity of one of the most beautiful parts
of Scotland. A comprehensive guide to Aberdeen and its surrounds
